The hospital in Targu Jiu, Gorj county, was officially founded in 1846 when it was organized in several rented buildings, while the laboratory was hosted inside the town hall building. In 1938, the hospital had 200 beds and 4 specialties: Medical, Surgery, Contagious diseases, Pediatrics, and even a compartment for Obstetrics-Gynecology, a laboratory and a radiology compartment (with a Roentgen device). During the Second World War it was transformed in a battlefield hospital. Nowadays, this medical unit is organized as Targu Jiu Emergency County Hospital, offering medical services for all specialties.
At the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015, the hospital has made the acquisition of a series of equipment and devices for various specialties, in order to ensure medical services of high quality according to current standards.
On this occasion, some of the oldest surgery tables in the hospital have been replaced, since they have reached over 50 years of usage. EYECON MEDICAL has supplied and installed 3 multifunctional high-performance tables, two for the Surgery ward, and one for the ENT ward.
