MEDICA is and shall remain a top event for decision-makers in the health area, from countries all over the world. MEDICA 2015 proved once again this year to be the world's largest medical trade fair for medical technology, electromedical equipment, laboratory equipment, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. Thus, Medica provides to the medical device industry a central market for innovative products and systems that result in an important contribution to the efficiency and quality of patient care.
From 16-19 November 2015, 130,000 specialist visitors from around 120 nations came to Düsseldorf, a slightly larger amount than the previous year: more than half of them came from markets outside Europe, and 96 percent of them had decision-making power. Almost 5,000 exhibitors from 70 nations offered a complete spectrum of medical equipment and innovations.
This year, the main trends that outstand during the fair were focused on digitalisation, networking and "wearables". In general, the miniaturisation trend in the field of medical technology is continuing. In particular, "wearables" and smartphones in combination with special health apps which can also be used by patients themselves have the potential of becoming an essential element of networked health in the future.
Like every year, EYECON MEDICAL was present at MEDICA fair as a professional visitor. It was a pleasure to meet almost all our distinguished suppliers from around the world in their exquisite booths.
