IMSP Municipal Maternity no. 2 in Chisinau was founded in 1949, being the first clinic for Obstetrics in the Republic of Moldova. The other clinics of this type founded years later made this maternity to became a first level institution, aimed to assist births without complication, while Maternity no. 1 offers assistance to births from difficult pregnancies and the Center for Mother and Child assists the most problematic births. This differentiation reduced the complications during births and also the necessity to transfer delivering patients from one institution to another.
Nowadays, Maternity no. 2 has 4 delivery rooms and 70 beds. Annually, the registered number of birth is 1600, including the 200 caesarians, while the total number of children born here is 165.000. Due to the good accommodation conditions offered to patients, but also to the services and procedures which are complying the European standards, this institution has acquired the title of "Maternity - friend for child".
Under the Agreement for technical cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Japan (KUSANONE), this summer was organized a public tender focused on the modernization of medical equipment in Municipal Maternity no. 2 Chisinau.
Through this tender, EYECON MEDICAL delivered and installed, on September 2015, the following equipment intended for the Operating Theatre of the maternity:
